FAQ

  • Do you accept insurance?

    Do you accept insurance?

At this time, I do not accept insurance and operate as an out-of-network provider.

After much reflection, I chose to move away from insurance-based care because I wanted the freedom to offer therapy in a way that aligns with my values and supports each client's unique needs. Insurance companies often require a mental health diagnosis to authorize or reimburse treatment, may limit the number or type of sessions they will cover, and can influence aspects of treatment planning.

Working outside of insurance allows us to focus on your goals rather than meeting insurance requirements. Together, we can tailor the pace, frequency, and approach to therapy based on what is most supportive for you, not what is dictated by a third party.

If you have out-of-network benefits, I can provide a superbill that you may submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. Because every plan is different, I encourage you to contact your insurance provider to learn more about your out-of-network mental health benefits.

Good Faith Estimate

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate" explaining the cost of your medical care:

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don't have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

  • You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.

  • Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.

  • If you receive a bill that is a least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.

  • Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate
